Fancy yourself as the next Estelle? Think you’ve got the deckstorous skills to be the next Shortee Blitz? Maybe you’re an MC who’s yet to be heard.....
If any of these apply to you then read on. The Prince’s Trust, a charity dedicated to providing young people the opportunities they deserve, are offering the chance to display your skills to the masses next April. Now that’s providing opportunity!
The competition will be staged regionally and judged by the industries finest movers and shakers. Heats will be held in Birmingham, Brighton, Bristol, Glasgow, London and Manchester - the winners will then perform at the Urban Music Festival next April. The Earls Court to be precise.
Last year saw the first Urban Music Festival take place with great success. Superstars from across the pond such as Beyonce and Jay-Z joined the likes of Lemar, The Streets and Dizzee Rascal on stage and that was only the half of it - elsewhere in the festival you could join workshops and classes held by industry insiders, giving vital information on how to make you’re dream job come true.
Live music, adivce and opportunities - it’s a winning opportunity. To quote Estelle, ambassador to the Prince’s Trust, “There is an abundance of talent in every young person and many don’t realise how the Trust can help them nuture this.â€
