I should be there, didn't buy my ticket yet though...
Deema, we have some really good partiers here, the best I've seen are the psy-trancers and few trance heads (Rock, Crow, a couple of brothers and lebanese guys that I got to know via Rock), but alas, majority of people in Dubai's perception of partying is the following:
- Get off work on Thursday night
- Go to the nearest bar/pub and start drinking, perhaps in work clothes without even going home to change
- Going out at 11 with friends to the club, being already under the influence of alcohol
- Get trashed by 1:30am
- Make fool out of yourself, acting like an ass to everyone, yet you and your friends are really enjoying it and you think it's hilarious
- Leave at 2am
- Wake up at 1pm the next day not remembering anything, yet going around bragging about how great a certain party was because you got so wasted to unbelievable levels, but also you'd have the guts to say that the clubs are not allowed to stay open after 3am and how shitty that is because it is not fair to TRUE CLUBBERS! It's unbelievable... I'm not calling myself a true clubber or anything, but such people don't even realise that the main bad thing about the 3am curfew is that international djs spin normally for 3-4 hours, if not more, but to them the main bad thing is that they can't get any more booze after 3am and that the fun for them ends there (Of course, assuming they get past the 2am mark while still being on their feet)
Can go on forever... It's even worse when a big name dj is in town, a year ago Marco V was in town before Ramadan and nobody really knew him and the club wasn't packed at all, he played again on Thursday and it was packed, it was ironic too that again, despite that, you could clearly see him before he started his set in the dj booth and nobody bothered to approach him, at 3am people were all over him trying to get a photo with him or his signature, I swear to God it might be the same this Thursday with PvD... Agnelli and Nelson (Well, Nelson actually as the other half apparently doesn't dj as much) finished his set to less than 100 people, I personally told him that when (and if) he comes back next year, it will be marco v all over again)... Mind you, he played a fucking amazing set
Back on topic, bring on PvD, not expecting much of it for some reason, innu khalas I sometimes feel it was blown out of proportion once it was announced by the "OMG PvD is playing here in November, I must go because I love TECHJNO"... techno elle yekhla3 nee3ak/nee3ek inshalla lol
