DJ Mag Top 100 - SUPPORT Jordan's #1 DJ - BeeBee

Postby OBie » Fri Sep 07, 2007 3:25 am

DJ Bee Bee is a revolutionary who once left Jordan for the U.K. in search of an audience.
At the time, his dream of a techno, dance and house scene in the Hashemite Kingdom was surreal at best.
Now with the introduction of events such as Distant Heat in Wadi Rum and new clubs in Amman, this pioneer of the club scene in Jordan is the forerunner and is currently mixing a taste of Jordan with world beats.
Opening for Armin Van Buuren at Distant Heat 2005 and warming up for armada top djs Markus Schulz & Matthew Dekay & Remy in Distant Heat 2006 and appearing with famed DJ/Producer Nick Warren at the Hard Rock Caf.. premises in Amman, Bee Bee proved that his formula for the Kingdom of Jordance can hold its own next to world renown talents, even those who have produced for the likes of Madonna.
Introducing this caliber of talent to Jordan has been a novelty for Bee Bee. Mostly due to the fact that performing with the cr..me de la cr..me of the electronic music scene is nothing new for this DJ.
While in the UK, Bee Bee quickly became a favorite in London’s underground…and we don’t mean the metro! Promoter Paul Dwire discovered him while performing as the resident DJ at Heaven.
Those who know London, know this club to be the one of the most prestigious of that genre.
He was quickly enlisted to headline the Ministry of Sound Asia Tour. By recommendation of DJ Paul Jackson, Bee Bee also made guest appearances at the Ministry of Sound in London which landed him a contract to perform at the top clubs in South Africa.
Highlights included gigs at Tramps, Fly House and Pure.
When it comes to name dropping, Bee Bee could spend ions going through the list of notable artists with whom he has worked.
But our modest DJ rarely speaks about his accomplishments, content just to see the look of surprise cross the face of those who learn he has performed with the likes of Boy George, The Artful Dodger, Phats & Small, Armin Van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Above & Beyond, Nick Warren, Dave seaman, Paul Jackson, Judge Jules, Mr.C , Danny Rampling, ATB, Aly & Fila, Brandon Block, Sash, Allister Whitehead, Sharon Woolf, DJ Jurgen and Jon Pleased Wimmin…just to name a few.
Fate eventually led Bee Bee back to the Middle East, where he began trailblazing the scene at clubs in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
He soon found a home on Radio One and hosted two of the hottest shows in The Emirates introducing both dance and chill out to a captive audience.
While making an appearance in Jordan, Bee Bee saw the need to cultivate the scene in the tiny Hashemite Kingdom.
He took a resident gig at the Barracuda Beach Club in the Red Sea Riviera Resort of Aqaba and dedicated his tenure there to opening the hearts and minds of locals to “his” music.
His goals soon took a quantum leap after meeting Julian Noursi.
A revolutionary in terms of pop culture in Jordan, Noursi has forever changed the concept of events in the kingdom.
Noursi, along with Romero Events, introduced annual festivals such as Distant Heat, Voyage into Rum, which features top talents from the world’s clubbing scene and is a vehicle used to promote tourism and local talents in Jordan.
Garnering global attention for the event, she managed to propel Jordanian pop culture into the 21st century.
Personally responsible for introducing the electronic music scene to Jordanians, Noursi recognized Bee Bee’s talent and recruited him to lead the scene.
He has been performing non-stop for events conceptualized by Noursi and Romero Events, culminating with Distant Heat.
Opening for Dave Seaman & Above & beyond at Distant Heat 2007, Bee Bee validated the coming of age for local talent and formally ushered in the electronic music era for Jordan, now known as The Kingdom of JorDance.
On a personal level, Bee Bee is a passionate person who devoutly believes that we can spread the message of peace and harmony to the world via music.
As Jordan’s unofficial music ambassador, he has accomplished much in this direction.
Due to perform at Distant Heat 2007 July 26, he will continue to spread that message via last year’s theme “Let ME party in PEACE!”
In addition to live gigs, DJ Bee Bee can be heard weekly hosting his own radio show in Jordan ... “Club Sensation” broadcasts live every Friday at 9 PM Jordan Local Time (GMT + 1) on Beat FM 102.5
Live streaming can be heard online at http://www.mybeat.fm
in addition to his bi-monthly show State of Jordance on http://www.afterhours.fm every other Tuesday at 12:00 PM (GMT+1)
