Dear All
As the topic says it all: Bacardi B-LIVE & Mix FM will once again overcome all the negative consequences of this summer's turmoil.
We have been doing it for the last 10 years, fighting hard to keep Lebanon's credibility in terms of clubbing capital of the Middle East despite the non-stop political & security hazards that have unfortunately been imposed on our country.
It is without any doubts that the Lebanese clubbers were up to the challenge and defied all chalenges with Us: Bacardi & Mix FM to show the world "that only music and peace prevail" in Lebanon.
PVD 05 was a huge risk to us, to PVD and most of all to all of you clubbers.
but we all made it and made out of it a memorable night/experience that chaleenged all the car bombs then and the negative vibes haunting our country then.
Then came a couple of events: Ferry and then Tiesto and both were as well big challenges then and you do not even want to listen to what as organizers (Bacardi & Mix) had to go through to go through these events.
YOU NEVER TRULY APPRECIATE WHAT YOU HAVE UNTIL YOU DONT HAVE IT !!!!!!!
This is exactly what we had and this exactly what we are working on now.
GETTING BEIRUT BACK ON TRACK!!!.
and this can only be done through poisitive vibes, through hope, through persistence, through solidarity.
And this can only be done with the help of our firends.
Being the Bacardi rep in Leb., I can in no way describe you the perception or the idea that some of the DJs have been getting of Leb.
Simply: SHOCKING
A lot of compassion but then again a lot of concern & fear.
It is sad to see how to the eyes of some DJs we have turned from the clubbing capital of the Middle East and the most sought after destination to play in to the least sought after destination and the riskiest.
We have spent 10 days in Ibzia (and I think Samer will confirm that) convincing all the DJs that Lebanon is not what you are seeing now on CNN or AlJazeera.
Just for you info, At Deep Dish's gig in Beirut a CNN team was filming and was about to release in July a documentary about the scene in Lebanon.
Due to the sad events the documentary was never aired!!!
We spent 10 days "presenting them" with pictures, articles, video footages, etc... anything that just confirms our point and make it easier on us to show the true spirit of Lebanese.
and it wasn't easy believe me when I say that.
Unfortunately to us: we have been accustomed to a lot of negative and aggresssive actions that in no way appear to be normal to others.
We have been accustomed that after a war, we rise again and act as if everyting is normal and as if nothing happened.
This what keeps Lebanon on its feet: PERSISTENCE & LUST FOR LIFE.
But then again think that after a big storm or tornado, it takes for instance Americans 1-2 year to get over it.!!!!
So, without Lebanon true friends, the clubbing scene can not be revived and would not have been revived last year if it wasn't of DJs like PVD or Ferry in 2005.
PVD saved last summer's clubbing season by daring and confronting all warnings, even from his embassy, and came to Beirut.
Ferry pulled out the same challenge 1 month after.
These are Lebanon's true and sincere friends.
These are great artists bound by the muscic and by the people : a scarce quality in international artists.
Again this year, Ferry was terrible saddened by the events.
And to tell you frankly what he told me in Ibiza: "I am so sad of what is happening. I am in love with you country. I am in love with the Lebanese clubbers and I want to be the 1st DJ to be back in Beirut. And I want to show thw world what the true face of Beirut is."
And he did.
He kept his promise and insisted on issuing a note to all clubbers in here.
Let's us: Bacardi & Mix FM keep our promise of making it a great night.
Let's clubbers (meaning all of you without exception; house or trance fans) keep your promise and your mission of contributing the reviving of a scene that has never died and will never die.
Wether it is PVD, FERRY or Armin: these are our true friends, our supporters and are confirming themselves as one of the pillars of our scene.
And I truly hope (and know for sure) that you all will be there for this mission , a non political mission, a mission that unites all, a mission where we can make really make a change.
For a lot of us: THIS IS WHAT IS KEEPING US HERE.
I am sorry for the long post however this had to be done.
Ferry will be here on Nov 17.
Ferry will be throwing and be focussing on a lot of charity oriented activitied during his 3-day stay in Lebanon.
He will be promoting the "let's party for Peace" night in Beirut and is very keen on showing his greatest support to Lebanon and to Lebanese clubbers(and this as youmay know may jeopordize his bookings in a certain country).
Ferry will be meeting the Minister of Tourism to express his strongest faith in our country.
AND I JUST HOPE THAT ALL CLUBBERS WILL NOT FAIL US ALL IN THANKING HIM FOR THIS UN-PRECEDENTED INITIATIVE FROM ANY ARTIST EVER.
Cheers to All
Let's Party for Peace.
See you all on Nov 17
