i have no idea what the night was or who the DJ was, but I had gotten pretty hammered at a house party and around 1230 decided to swing down with a friend of mine visiting Beirut on business and go to Basement. After the usual "Do you have a reservation?" bullshit from the bouncer and giving my best "I'm zee foreigner, i'm here to spend lots of money" routine, i go inside to what can best be described as a MADHOUSE! Basement was packed beyond belief, I mean I was taking baby steps to get to the bar. The DJ (don't know who it was, not Jade) was playing a strange mix of techno, hard electro, progressive stuff that somehow magically blended all together. Everybody was either dancing on tables, or on the floor and even the bartenders had their fists pounding in the air! DJ continued pounding deep, dark, very bassy beats with lots of feedback noise/electric guitar background noises--slightly James Holden-esque (which I would NEVER complain about!). Several drinks and a bunch of pogo-stick dancing by yours truly, my friend gives me a big fat kiss and she says "BEIRUT F***KIN ROCKS" (and she's from London!!!!). I stayed until 4:30am, and needless to say I feel like a train ran me over this morning. All worth it though. anyone else there?
Are you ready to go on a musical trip with me, through love...happiness...music....AND PARTY TIME?
