Prepare to shake it on America’s West Coast as one of the world's largest electronic music festivals returns to San Francisco on Saturday, September 24, 2005. There will be a full "Loveweekend" of festivities beginning on Friday and running right through to Sunday with the main event, the Loveparade, book ended and taking place on the Saturday. 75,000 are expected to march up San Fran’s Market Street to Loveparade's new festival location at the Civic Center.
Unique to the Loveparade is the "no spectators" event. Revealers are encouraged to dress outrageously and dance alongside floats for the entire length of the route. Founded in Berlin in 1989, the event has grown to over 1.5 million attendees by 2000, with Mexico City, Santiago de Chile, and Tel Aviv all playing host to international Loveparades.
