The House Music Awards are back again this year, so get on down before July 31 if you want your opinion to be heard!
Award ceremonies…who'd have 'em eh? An ego massaging, back slapping excercise they may be, but when they're done properly they can be the fairrest representation of the winners, the sinners and what's hot and what's not. This, of course, is if it's done with the public in mind – the real music lovers who are out there buying the music and paying to get into the clubs.
As you may well know, the House Music Awards are done in this very way and last year, their first ever year running, over 14,000 people registered, nominated and voted. Yes, that's right, not only can you vote, but you can nominate as well. This is a far cry from most award ceremonies when you're given a selection of people to vote for…and that's if you're given a vote at all.
iDJ reckon the House Music Awards are one of the fairest music award ceremonies around. The nomination stage will run until July 31, anything you nominate must be from July 2004 - July 2005. On August 14 the nominees will be announced, you'll be able to vote, and check this…they've added a facility on their site so you can change your vote up until the very last minute!
So without further ado, there's loads of categories for you to nominate your favourite shiznit, so check the website below and get nominating!
