*ALEX MORENO*
Alex Moreno has become one of the most famous and sought after Djs in Sweden today. Without even releasing a record. The young Dj has created big headlines throughout the years and has already spun records all the biggest and most popular clubs in Sweden. In 2006, aged 21, he was nominated for the "DJ of the year"-award and has played for audiences of up to 30 000 people. Alex has also attended mix shows arranged by NRJ and MTV, among others and has been featured in most of the biggest newspapers and magazines in Sweden.
Alexander Moreno grew up in Solna, outside of Stockholm, and developed an interest in club music and Dj-culture early on. Following his new found interest, Alex started collecting vinyl records of the trackes he loved. Among his favorite artists were Tiesto and Paul Van Dyke. At this age, Alex could not yet afford the equipment neccessary to develop his interest in music or the DJ-Culture, but after working several extra jobs after school Alex had soon saved up enough money to help him get a good start on his career.
After hours of practice and playful experimenting in his bedroom Alex for the next step in his career as a Dj. Parties with friends were the perfect opportunity to try his hand at being a Dj. Eventually after some time a friend suggested Alex should audition at a small nightclub in Stockholm. After an impressive performance the door to a real career opened. Offers from other nightclubs started rolling in left and right as Alex reputation grew and his name spread across Sweden.
His first significant performance came at the ripe age of 20 when Alex was offered the chance to play at famous nigthclub Berns. At the time this was one of Stockholm’s biggest and trendiest nightclubs. Once again, Alex managed to make a great impression on the audience and has since played at Berns several times, among others when he opened for his idol, world famous, Dj Tiesto.
The 25th of November 2006 was one of the biggest days of Alex career so far, he was asked to open for his idol and one of his biggest inspirations through the years - Tiesto. This added pressure to make a good impression but didn’t stop Alex from delivering an unforgettable performance. He left Tiestos stage to the sound of a roaring audience.
Today Alex is able to earn his living by deejaying. Between gigs at clubs across Sweden he plays in his home town, Stockholm, at he's dj-resident clubs Sturecompaniet and Laroy, among others. He spends his free time in the studio working on future productions and is also part-owner and teacher at Swedens newest and fastest growing Dj-school: Select DJ (for more information: www.selectdj.se)
The future holds more exciting news, Alex has been asked to perform at one of the worlds most famous nightclubs, "Dreamers" in Spain. He will be performing in November 2007. Previous guest-deejays include Carl Cox, Tiesto, Bob Sinclar, Pete Tong, Judge Jules, David Guetta, Axwell and many more.
