I arrived just when Amadeus had inaugurated his set, so I couldn't make it for the warm-up to pass any judgement, but I was told it was very diverse in music styles. Regardless, our dear Amadeus took over the decks (a pair of Pioneer CDJ-800 with a Pioneer DJM-600 if I'm not mistaken, I didn't climb up to the booth to verify) at around 1AM with the sole mission of setting the place in turmoil, a mission he succeeded in achieving... surprised?

A short two-hour set that featured a careful blend of your favorite Trance sub-genres, with Amadeus alternating between Progressive, Uplifting, and Tech Trance, going rough on the transitions to maintain a high level of energy level, and tweaking those Pioneer effects on the breakdowns for added aural pleasure - the synthesis resulted in a colorful set (to borrow Sam's term) enriched with technical expertise and causing mayhem on a dancefloor crowd that refused to give in to the call of exhausted bodies.
It was great seeing Amadeus deliver the more energetic side of Trance whereas in his warm-up sessions for international DJs he is bound to the less pumping dimension of this sublime form of artwork termed Trance Music. It's just not right that a local pride gets more exposure in our neighbouring island Cyprus than he does domestically! So I hope this event will be followed up by another one really soon...
Stamina vs Gunther took over the pilot seats next but instead of delivering their expected Tech House they went on playing ProggPsy. I couldn't hang around for more than a couple of tracks so I don't know if they then moved on to Tech House, but as a first impression I found they were technically fit and know what they are playing. Hopefully I'll get to see them at a future event for a longer period of time to more accurately paint the picture.
All in all, a great night out, filled with the usual LOL LMAO ROTF that comes by default whenever you're raving with the beautiful people of TH, a decent line-up of local DJ talents, but unfortunately a terribly engineered audio system that didn't translate the sound's full richness. But with a Trance set ending with the classic For An Angel, suddenly all the factors standing in the way of great night just vanish in thin air!
