You might get shocked to see me going to Sasha, Digweed, & Sander Kleinenberg's event. Well, I went just to live my first clubbing experience in Montreal, and it was alright, fun wise. Music wise, you all know that it's not my type; Sasha & Digweed, of course, played the DARK Prog & Tech House. Ok that was very general; let me start commenting the event from the beginning.
The event was supposed to start at 11 PM, but organizers made people wait OUTSIDE (it was -4 Degrees, and it was snowing) until 12 AM. In events like these here, queues are usually inside the venue, and not outside. So that was a negative point of the event. But believe me, everything else was Great!!
My friend (Akram AW) and I finally entered the venue at around 1 AM , and there was Security Check, with machines; everything was well organized inside. We arrived to the dancefloor, and there was Spooky warming up! Sound system was AWESOME (one of the best I ever heard), and well distributed! The place was packed already with around 1000 clubbers!
Sasha took over the decks at around 1:45 AM, and honestly, I don't wanna comment a lot on this. Again, it was not my style of music, but full respect to the guy. He does not use a lot of effects; he keeps it simple - Simple and smooth transitions.
Digweed started his set at around 2:45 AM, and honestly, I enjoyed this guy's set more; I liked one or two tracks of the whole Tracklist
.At 4:15, Sasha & Digweed played B2B, and it was not bad. But, the bad thing about both djs that they did not interact with the crowd at all! They were like only playing and mixing the tracks, without even looking at the crowd; that was something strange.
And by the way, one more thing I hated about the event was the Weed's smell; it was basically everywhere! It's not allowed to smoke inside, but some managed to smoke cigarettes and weeds without making the security pay attention to them.
I Left at 5 AM (i really got tired), so couldn't see Sander Kleinenberg.
