REVIEW:"A State of Mind" 1st Anniversary[21-09-07]

Although an explosion in Beirut killed some people 2 days before the event and created fear (again) in people's minds, this gig scored again a success. Of course it was affected negatively by the explosion, but still, when we see around 1000 attending a Gig 2 days after an assassination, that's something Huge! However, i have to mention that many Wazawiz and Kidos existed there.

I arrived to Cyan at around 10:30 with my friend Hussein (Gadanfar), when Nino was spinning some House, Prog & low bpm tech Trance. The place included around 400 people already (and i was surprised honestly). I met there Icepick, AH Deejay, Tala (and her bf)...

Nino's tracklist (listed below) was great honestly, and his mixing skillz again made me love the music more and dance on it. Nino created a good atmosphere, and the crowd went crazy on the music. Every track's build up made the crowd ask for stronger beats, and higher bpm.

Undertaker took over the decks at around 12:30, where he got introduced by Maximus, by his own intro (gr8 one..full of choirs, strings, pads...and some male vocals that are related to A STATE OF MIND), and the amazing FIREWORKS. Undertaker started with around 4 uplifting tracks (which i did not recognize) that include really strong basslines, and dreamy melodies. People were responding and reacting even more, and the place at that time was loaded with more or less than 1000 clubbers!
you can realize how smart is Undertaker's tracklist, since he kept the crowd interested in the music at least until 3:15 AM (when i left). At that time, there was still around 400 people clubbing. A combination of Uplifting Trance, and high bpm Tech Trance, the crowd was more than satisfied.

Both DJS played some old releases via Vinyls (as usual), and it's really gr8 seeing them playing on the turntables.

Before i forget about this thing, Sound system was one the best i have heard so far. Bass is strong, Mid and High frequencies are very clear..and it was VERY WELL DISTRIBUTED!

Nino really shaked the dancefloor with his massive choice of tracks! And technically speaking, he IS from high calibre! You made my night Nino, you were great (by the way, your sister SO MUCH looks like you )

Undertaker's intro reminded me of Armin's intro of ASOT 07.. It was very well done. Undertaker looked so happy and cheerful, especially at the time fireworks were decorating the beautiful sky yesterday at Cyan! Indeed as Raneem already mentioned, he played some finger-licking uplifting trance tracks, not to mention his highly admired technical skills.

Sound system and distribution were quite impressive! I liked that a lot.

TOO many KIDS were over there.. and I seriously got a question here: why our very young girls (ranged between 13 and 17 MAX) have no clue on how to be respectful?? This is really a problem we are facing nowadays. The level of "bitchiness" and disrespectfulness to ones' self I witnessed yesterday was, for me, the peek of what that very young generation can actually reach. This is sad!

Anyway, happy 1st anniversary to a State of Mind. Keep it up![/align]

^very sad...i was at the beach bar dancing with my friends...suddenly a group of like 6 girls, highest age is around 13...i have the FTW face enno they shouldnt be in this kind of atmosphere at that age especially that they are girls....
