Cosmic Gate in Dubai

Don’t know what to say really, Cosmic Gate finally come down to Dubai to play at one of the old clubbing institutions in the city that has been refurbished and voted the number one club in Dubai (I strongly disagree with that, as if that matters though). Arrived at the club before midnight to face the same shitty situation at the door of “Sorry, couples only”, spotted the Cosmic Gate dudes entering the club while we were outside and chatted briefly with them. Eventually, the whole ‘gang’ got in, the club was buzzing although traditionally in Dubai that doesn’t happen before 12:30 or 1:00am, but before Nic & Bossi even got to the dj booth it was pretty packed. The doors separating the club’s two rooms were opened (thankfully), that created far more space. The sound system overall was not up to the required standard of a “top club” like this one positions itself to be, but on the other hand, the club is more popular for its outdoors area which hosted the Tiesto gig in Feb this year and that one has a better overall sound system, but still, doesn’t justify the lack of quality in the speakers indoors. After we got in, we (Me & Rock) ‘sneaked’ into the VIP area where he got his CD signed and I took pictures with them, they were quite cool (And huge in size, typical Germans as Rock said

The duo finally graced the clubs decks at about 1 am, taking over from the decent warm-up DJ who got the crowd ready for the two hours of madness that followed with some nice progressive house tunes. Nic & Bossi opened with Wippenberg’s remix of Above & Beyond’s “Home”, very nice opening, followed with a couple of tracks by the in form Deadmau5… The night went on, with them playing hits like “Riff”, “Lethal Industry”, “Should’ve Known”, “Body Of Conflict” amongst many others… Special thanks to Rock & Sammi for significantly helping out with the tracklist (below).

The night ended in a slightly disappointing fashion as they were forced to stop playing the last track (“Cosmic Gate” Cosmic Gate) while it was still playing, which got on our nerves… Screw the 3am curfew…

Thanks for the review and the pictures! Which club was this again? From what I see this doesn't look much like a #1 club... Perhaps it has wicked sound and light to earn that title? Great work on the tracklist too boys!
