It was Friday night, another clubbing night but this time the road was different; The destination was the old train station a new/old venue, new for many and old for a minority who would experience flashbacks from a similar event few years back..
Reaching our destination, The old train station was filled with lights and people who started to gather at the entrance as I made my way into the venue at around 11 PM, very early for many but well intended in order to experience maDJam’s set from the start..
Entering the venue, I was greeted with beautiful blue lights situated on to top half-closed side of the venue while the floor was all covered in black and both the VIP and the Marlboro areas were situated on the sides as the venue stretched onwards giving the feeling of being inside a train with cabins on both sides..
Going to the next half-open side of the venue, the lights were replaced with clear sky and the air coolers with natural weather. The DJ booth was facing the crowd in the middle between 2 fronts of old trains having each couple of screens projecting maDJam’s live performance..
Another time maDJam manage to prove his talent and mastery behind the decks as he delivered one sold set both in terms of mixing skills and track selection making the crowd really pumped up and daring anyone to stay stable on his feet. This guy is amazingly able to make you feel that with each time he plays he’s getting better and better!!
After what seemed to be a very short time, Jan Carbon took over the decks and started the official warm up set slowly as he build his own momentum with steady beats and variety of different sounds that easily got everyone in the mood to forget everything and surrender to the DJ and his musical weapons that was literally attacking everyone everywhere!!
At around 2:00 AM MixFM’s famous voice Dan Harper announced the presence of the man of the event Nick Warren and stated that he will be coming on a train!!
Few seconds later, behind the DJ booth, a third train was approaching with Nick Warren inside while 2 guys holding red torches were on top of the train as it slowly moved until Nick got out and got up the DJ booth on the screams of hungry clubbers for more music, energy and EDM!!
Similar to his original entrance, Nick pulled an original set by playing a variety of different sounds, a bit of everything all molded into one journey that dared anyone to stay stable on his feet while the “veteran” was pounding one track after the other.
It was a relief to experience yet another successful sound setup at this event. Everything sounded perfect, all instruments and sounds were fairly distributed and clear reflecting the true sound of the music played. If this to be the standard from now on, I can’t wait till we start having some Trance events!
Finally, something that has been underrated for quiet a while, few words should be said about the wonderful visuals that has been present in all Bacardi/MixFM events courtesy of GFX projections who are delivering great visuals with constant improvements and being able to project the correct theme/music style of each event.
With such successful combination of sound, lights, and visuals along with a touch of originality Friday was another clubbing night, for all who missed it.. my condolescence!
