well regarding this gig i got some mixed feelings..
i truly loved the warmupset (though i didnt get to hear it fully for a reason which will be stated later on..) and i dont ever appreciate missing AMADEUS' set but sometimes shit happens.. and it did yest!
anyway, to get back to Above and Beyond.. they were as friendly as ever, as good as ever and it seems they're loving us more and more.. had the chance to chat a couple of minutes with them and they surely seemed in love with Lebanon, the Lebanese and THers.. and for that they wanted me to send their msg that they thank each and everyone of you for the support you've been giving them.. (support that for sure we THerz believe they deserve it! )
now to go to the bad points in the gig i got a couple of things to mention:
1- For the i dunno how many times we keep on stressing and repeating! pls pls the sound engineers or whoever in charge of the sound.. CHANGE YOUR CURRENT CONFIGURATIONS!!.. stop making the bass that dominant over all other sounds.. YOU ARE KILLING THE VOCALS!! we needed to decipher the vocals of each track. even the voice over of Dan wasnt clear! for God sake these are trance events not bangy hardcore.. do something about it!
2- what wasnt expected at the door (and def. not accepted) was not letting ppl in anymore.. how can they just dont know how many ppl the place can handle and how many tickets they should sell?! can they sell 3000 tickets for a 2000 ppl venue?! i can understand if they decide to just stop selling tickets, but to deny anyone the right to go in when they already got a ticket.. that's really unfair!!
3- What's up with the hostile attitude towards the clubbers?! do we need to remind our dear organizers that the security ppl are worse with each event?! they treat ppl literally like shit! dont you know that clubbers are the most important part in all of that? without them surely nothing would happen.. and believe it or not i felt so bad each time i heard someone swearing at the organization, mixfm, baccardi or clubbing scene in Lebanon.. surely it's not the first time i hear that, but it's the 1st time the ones who are saying that got a valid reason!! I just cant believe how rude the security ppl were.. aside from not letting ppl in.. they closed the doors and didnt let anyone go out anymore unless it's a one way ticket home..
FFS the ticket is for 30$ minimum and ppl cant go out and go in again?! and for the ones who asked how logical was that, they got to receive a very civilized answer: "EH WALLA NE7NA HEK, YALLEH 3AJABO!"
i have witnessed all that as my friends were stuck in the middle of all that.. half of them got in and the others were still out. noone was able to do anything, we waited for like half an hour but nothing has changed, and finally they all decided to leave with their tickets at hand.. that's so so sad!
4- Finally, i think it was insulting the most for the ppl who got their tickets ahead of time and werent able to get in.. how can ppl be asked to purchase tickets way ahead of time if their admission cant be guaranteed? do you think refunding them their money is fair?! what about the time wasted outside waiting in line experiencing rudness and bad attitude?! what about planning their saturday night ahead of time and ending up spending their weekend in the cold waiting in queue to finally go home.. well guess what, THAT SUCKS!
anyway, i know no1 is perfect and shit do happens.. i do hope that things like that wont happen again and that we get to learn from our mistakes.
Finally, a BIG thanks for the MixFM and Bacardi guys for organizing such events, hoping that in the future some of these flaws will be eliminated for good!
