It was GOOD but not EXCELLENT. At least to me though. However, it was much better than many trance parties organized lately. Armin never fails to deliver what's good. I think the set will be broadcasted on ASOT this weekend. Let's see...

OK, here is my humble review, sorry for the delay, just had to make sure I had everything in place (Pictures, videos uploaded, and more importantly, some time to type! As the others were done automatically using the amazing tool called “Multi-uploader!”

Something that in my opinion was done quite smartly by organisers (Peppermint) was that a couple of days before the Tiesto gig here on Valentine’s day, a promotional e-mail was sent out to people on the club’s mailing list about Armin’s gig, mentioning the fact that AvB is the number 1 DJ in the world, tickets of Tiesto’s ‘concert’ were sold out by then, and that was in my opinion was a good way to attract people who couldn’t make it to Tiesto’s gig, effective especially given the nature of the scene here that is obsessed with numbers and the DJ Mag (Which IMHO, starts properly after the 100th rank!)

Arrived at the venue with a friend at around 10, nobody was allowed in yet, although the flyers said that the doors would open at 9, but being in Dubai, the average ‘clubbing time’ is not before midnight, no issues there. It got packed quickly though, by midnight the venue , in an annoying way sometimes, especially in the front, went to other areas of the venue, but ended up going back to the front where Crow and Rock were. Sound quality and distribution was quite better than the Ferry Corsten gig, too bad that the sound on my aging camera was awful despite that. Lasers and visuals were really good, in all honesty, they keep on improving with every gig organised by Fluid aka. Peppermint. Respect to the guys behind the massive set-up

. Ventilation was poor though, not surprising given the large number of people that showed up (4,900, as per Madjam’s announcement during Armin’s set).

Armin started well, with the remix of his track “If You Should Go”, followed by an ID track, then the Deadmau5 remix of “The Longest Road”, after that, he played house-ish and prog-house tracks, I wasn’t too happy with that personally, as I expected him to play full-on trance from the start, why did Blake Jarrell warm-up for 2 hours before that if Armin was going to warm-up things all over again with that? At some point he played one track I despise, one with those “What The Fvck” vocals, thankfully the pace picked up and the BPM did too. There were some amazing moments though during his set, wish I knew all the Ids, maybe you guys can help by checking out the videos, links posted below the pictures =)... Highlights: “Body of Conflict” mash-up, John O’Callaghan’s remix of “Beauty Hides In The Deep” and the infamous ya hawa Beirut track

Was checking out videos on youtube and finally found a track that I couldn't recall its ID at all during the set or even after, mind blowing track
