I got back from turkey with the guys (mido and moudy) like 6 days ago, and i've been willing to post a review since then, but believe me when i say that words were betraying me ! i couldn't find the right ones to even begin to describe what i saw, and what i lived ! So, it took me 6 days to write it ! The review is a bit long, but plz find the time to read it, i promise you, it will change the way you look upon life and perceive what's around you! PS: Pictures and videos, a lot of them, will soon be posted!!
You will never experience the true meaning of inner-peace, of love, brotherhood and harmony until you go to a Psy-trance gathering!
They say you will never become a Psy-freak until you go to a Psy festival ! Well, i guess they were right! I am hooked now !!
In the society we live in, we are taught to judge others and to create stereotypes around us and live by them, let them control our lives! Where i lived for 10 days, words like judgment, prejudices, discrimination, intolerance, stereotypes and racism do not even exist ! Each and every single one in beautiful in his own way, is beautiful by his own perspective of beauty, is beautiful for what he is, whether tall or small, whether fat or thin, black or white, gay or straight, hippy or a business man, every single person is a ray of sunshine in a total eclipse!!
I've met soo many people, from different backgrounds, religions and ethnic groups, and they all welcomed me to their tents and to their camp fire like a brother, like a son.
One night, we were sitting around a fire, to my right an Israely guy, to my left 2 Japanese, facing me a beautiful hippy girl from England, next to her a girl from Amsterdam and another from Spain, and many many others! It was like a mini-UN, soo many people, with soo many differences and gaps; some of them who are supposed to be my enemies, and here we are, taking warmth from the same fire, listening to the same incredible music, which for 7 days we slept to it's tunes and woke up to it's beats, breathing the same air, talking, laughing, and sharing!!
In the festival, u break loose from all the chains that have taken you captive long enough. I spent 7 days in my boxers, walking around barefoot, mud all over me, acting like crazy, dancing like a mad man and just having pure 100% fun and no one could care less, i couldn't care less! The only beauty you see is the inner one, the beauty of the soul and the music of the spirit! On the dance floor, at night, i've become known as the crazy guy from Lebanon with the yellow racing cap covering all my face, and the yellow swimming goggles covering my eyes, with glow sticks sticking out of my head and my arms, and 2 red flashing lights always in my hands. (Picture to be posted soon) You'd think that's weird, well nothing is weird over there as long as you're happy!!
In 23 years, i have never felt that much inner-peace and love as i felt in 7 days, living with people i'm honored to call family, as this is how they made me feel.
I came back to Lebanon with invitations from the heart to destinations around the world, i came back with warm memories to cherish and treasure all my life, i came back with brothers and sisters i never knew, i came back with a message to spread, just the other day, a guy crossed me over in the car, ran a red light, and nearly bumped into me! The OLD me would've kicked his ass, the IMPROVED me smiled at him and told him " TFADDAL YA MEZWI2" !! I came back another person. I know now that nothing is worth getting mad about, there is more to life ! And as DES, my good friend, the brother i met in the festival says " it is time to break the chains and start enjoying life " I hear you bro !! Next stop, In august, MOROCCO festival Rhythms of peace!
Psy is more than music, it is a way of life, a religion, a pattern! I have seen a better world, and there's no coming back to the old one!
