i enjoyed every word you wrote Dio, and i can really feel the passion that you have..
Damn it was an amazing night..Fred made me lose my mind with his skills on the mixer.. :|
And Saleem, Some words for you my friend. I was from the first persons who supported you in your gigs, and as i always thought, "This guy can easily go globaly" (Fred Baker & Greg Nash)..This statement should make you proud! You had the chance to give Fred & Greg a listen to your taste, transitions...and they liked it! Benefit from this my friend!!! I wish you all the best! and by the way, concerning your tracklist, i hope you post it here, sice i only recognized one or two tracks (System K - In A Dark Room <---- gr8 one, by my friend from Egypt..haha).
And one thing i am sure of: you will never ever forget the moment of Fred ending his set with 4EVER FRIENDS, and then Greg starting his set (2nd or 3rd track actually) with COMMUNICATION...! :( :(

HAAHAHA.. Just to point out tha Uplifting Trance still has its power of domination !!!!! :'(

Sorry I didn't know that i can do a new topic on the review since im not from the th "crew"! but thats what i wrote somehow. Just pointing out some stuff DIO didn't notice since he was backstage! But That was from the crowd's point of view!

Expect the unexpected!

Whether its the organizers or the ppl they dealt with? Whose to blame
Well actually we came early(10:00) to support our dj "DIO"!! but the security told us that there is some kind of technical difficulties! Well i saw my friend Dj Soli getting out holding a DJM 800! well i guessed that there was a problem with the mixer! After a while I met the TH group C-rouge, Trancer, Dolphina, Raneem, Reemze, Moudy (I came with my bro Icepick)...
Then around 11 we entered, surprisingly the section of the venue seemed small, but in the end it was appropriate to the number of the crowd...
I was very sorry for DIO since his night was somehow spoiled due to the freezed visuals! and 2 non working lcd's... But a bigger surprise happend in this lovely country! The electricity went off!! but they did a gd job by throwing blue glowsticks to the crowd (i think it was gaulases)
The Stage was gr8! The security worked hard! The crowd no comment
Light 6/10
Sound: no distortion ! but the speakers in the front were'nt actually working! so i would blame ROUHANNA for bad sound distribution ! i saw a burnt amp somewhere next to the cigarette stand !!
I asked icepick in wonder:" How are'nt these monitor speakers falling down due to the bass"
HE REPLIED!!!: look @ the top speaker, there is no cable attached to it!!
Fa i started to think enno 3am yistilmouna!
The "VJ" was null (sorry to say) too much graphic freezing and there appears The DVD LOGO and a journey into trance i think (Paul Oakenfold)!!!!

1) DIO's set was not my style! BUT IT DESERVED A LOT OF APPRECIATION! "WE EVOLVE AS ONE_ TON TB" made my night!!
I liked the GR8 vengeant comeback when the electricity returned!

2)JOJO: 3am yistilimna very commercial n cliche:P very up tempo :@... but i think he saw what type of crowd was there...fa he responded.
His interaction and hype was excellent!

3)FREDERICK!: the best part was seeing him eating some of Raneem's 7allab packages! Hehe he drinks redbull sugarfree and he squeezes with the "ATIR" on the sweets :P
We had the chance to have a quick talk and photos, and actually very cool to see him walking with the crowd b4 his set. But the crowd was very educated! fa ma 7adan 3irfo!! :D
His set was exhaustively perfect! Main-Breakdown-Main-Breakdown....
He knows how to build up and breakdown with some melodic hands-in-the-air tunes ! :D I liked how he ended JoJO's set! 1/16 on the mixer and bamm the effect button!

I left around 4 so i didnt have the chance to see Greg... But it was nice to meet all of u THers!:D:D
Waiting for some pics from Trancer and ill upload soon some of my pics
I think it was good from Per-vurt productions and Q-entertainment, they did what they had to do in terms of organization and planning but i think the sound and light they dealt with was to blame!
It was a nice experience hope to see ur pics and ur reviews

well just wanted to tell u congrats saleem on an obviously job well done...reports seem gd & job well done also 2 the organizers who took things to another level...we never say it enough:we need new promoters we need fresh new names & we need gigs...a lot of gigs(not for me since i m in 4 the most exhausting 2 months of my college life sadly :? )...i m just shocked on ur warm-up report...jojo has i think enough experience to know what 2 deliver in a warm-up...

gr8 news guys & keep the vibe on

Welcome to DJ.Malaria you may wonder why I called this group Dj Malaria.
Just like Malaria takes over a person's body when it hits them i want my music's originality to control the soul of whoever hears it in that sense my music is more powerful than Malaria, and I'm sure it will but in a positive way of
course.

Lovely Review!!

I was at the venue door buying my ticket at around 10ish, to support the Opening DJ DIO...while standing there and wondering why the security didnt let us in, i met Serouj and had a little chat, then meeting other members of TH, especially RANEEM with all his goodies! To my surprize i knew about the technical difficulties, and believe it or not, i really was sorry for DIO, since being his first Live event in a venue...ALL is good...and at 11ish when the doors open, heard the amazing sounds that DIO was playing, loved every single track of the set, cheering and dancing, suddenly the lights were out!, why? Lebanese electricity has to go out at 12, at that moment, i really felt that your nigh DIO was messed up, but when the lights came back on and i can see you face, i saw the unbelievable smile continuing that track that was stopped by electrical problems, A lovely set played by DIO, technically absolutely amazing and great taste, hope you had fun tweaking on the 800!

KUDOS TO SALEEM hope to see you playing a warmup or even a main in a venue soon !

JOJO:

Warmup??? No i dont think so, going very commercial, with very high BPMS, which lost my interests, i thought he would play the normal electro things he does, but went really commerical, and i could see the "FTW" faces on some of the TH'erz, i guess the crowd enjoyed it...but didnt attract my attention much!

As for Fred Baker and Greg Nash:

LOVELY SET BY BOTH DJS, Baker went techy all the set full of energy, taking the art of mixing to another level blending different aspects of tracks and elements using effects such as color and so on! Greg was also absolutely amazing with very appealing melodies...Overall loved both sets... Altough had to leave a bit early because of exhaustion, and having several stuff to do the next day!

On the down side:
-VJ, how do i say it, was a Joke ?, yeah i guess, using the Paul Oake DVD, having freezing visuals most of the time and the DVD VIDEO logo on at many moments..
-Speakers on the center were off...didnt get the sounds in the middle properly!

It was nice meeting the TH'erz, and raving with you! (i will refrain from saying names, in case i forgot any:mrgreen:) and DIO ill be waiting for the "juices"!!

Per-vurt and Q-E, did a great job!!! Lots of efforts were poured on this, and it paid off! UNTIL NEXT TIME !!!

Okay i'll try to go nice and easy since it was one of my worst raving night ever! yesss worst raving night ever!

Okay i was there at 11 but waited for a friend till about 11:20 then when he arrived we headed to the door, but guess what? they are not letting ppl in and don't ask me why! then when they started getting ppl in, every 5-7 ppl advanced to the other bouncer for the ticket and security step!

From outside the venue the sound seems good i think DIO was spinning i could here the dirty base-lines till the outside of the venue, okay we finaly went in so let's start:

Set up: Nothing special about it, elevated dj booth plus 2 cheap lasers on the right and the left, and some more ligths.

LCD screens mm i think they were off most of the night!

Sound: The sound wass really high comparing to the music that it was played, it f**ked up my head i still have a headache untill nowww!

Opening Set: Dio you did a great job i loved your opening set, classy and makes to move ur ass, nice TL selection and amazing mixing! keep it up dio!

Warm up set: I seriously don't believe that jojo is a dj! wtf i know that jojo plays some electro house, so i told my friend here comes the house atleast we're gonna enjoy it b4 the tech trance, but guess what? started with sum shitttttttyyyyy f**ked up TRANCE YESSS TRANCEEEE AND HARD TRANCE COMMERCIAL SHIT!, seriously the guy played mm a remix of flight 643 - cherry blossom - mm a remix of silence, 3anjad 7aram this guy shouldnt be a warm up dj i really wish that DIO was given the warm up set, i actually told Mhamad (dj cardiac) when he told me that Jojo was opening up i was like mm noo DIO should he's doing a great job with his mix sets, that would do a even better job when it comes to opening cuz they guys know what he's doing, and JOJO was not even close for playing a openning set he was playing like it was a main set, enno atleast he was spinning at about 138-139 BPM and then the last 2 track JOJO actually started to get things slower thx god he remembered.
Oh and there was a guy dancing next to JOJO during he was playing, weireddd oh one more thing to add he doesn't know how 2 mix!

At mix fm you guys really should talk to the guy for his warm up sets in the clubbing experience or else we're f**ked.

Main djs: Oh la la, i seriously can't enjoy this music mm tech trance? tech trance with f**ked up speakers is like the worst combination ever, it's like sumthg hitting ur head all nite long, bass like half thru the set i was like f**k it went to the bar had my 3rd vodka and started jumping and dancing everywhere with every1 f**k that i wanna enjoy my night! oh yeah Fred Baker played 2 Presto tracks Adagio for strings and a remix of lethal industry and ofcorse u can imagine the reaction and screaming from the crowd!
Oh i missed Greg's set since when i left he still haven't played!

Left at about 3:30 looked at BO18 i soo wanted to go, bass i couldnt...

Gdluck for Mhamad(Dj Cardiac for his next event)

Oh one more thing to add the electrecity went off for about 5 min while DIO was playing and every1 started screaming

Thx god there's Danny Howells next week, thx god there's the clubbing experience not 2 mention the professional promoters and thx god there's house!

Lol a guy i think he was 16-17 asked me from he could buy a pill?

^^ u house freaks will never ever say good things abt the trance scene!
U think sound quality was poor? Although it was not well distributed (and i guess it was because of the sound crash eariler in the evening), it was at least better equalized that Mix FM's events' sound..FACE IT ;)

Dio i'm extremely happy for your experience man. Soak it up and live it in ur head over and over again, its a special feeling i'im sure.

The back2back surprise is truly one of the greatest things to happen at live gigs: I love the element of suprrise, i love DJs feeding off each other, even competing and helping each other all at once! its TASTY!!!!!
Very happy for Cardiac: my BO18 partner in crime: congratulations: the reports seem all positive, and hope you take the highs and lows of this gig into making an even better gig next time round.

I was out of the country but this was one gig I woulnd't have missed. While admittedly not really listening to too much trance these days, Fred Baker at BO18 lsat year was an absolute blast and one of my most enjoyable nights ever. Plus Fred is from Belgium and resident at a club I used to party in at ages 16-19, so that added touch of "home" would've been nice. We need mroe nights like this, we need other PROFESSIONAL organizers and local DJ support to make our scene that much better.

Hope to read more from people who went.
MABROOK MHAMAD/SALEEM! :D
Are you ready to go on a musical trip with me, through love...happiness...music....AND PARTY TIME?

Nothing spells success like EXCESS!
