Left the hotel around 9 pm , and headed to the the shuttle bus meeting point , where the buses will take you to the event location since no cars are allowed there due to the dangerous nature of the road .
The organiztion of the buses was not very good, since the only thing to do was find the bus and jump on it . No one telling you where to go , and organizing a first come first serve basis , which for the ladies can be a problem with the hostility of the young , drunk kids , who by 9.00 pm where clearly past that stage ! lol .
Anyways , one way or another , we found a way to get the event location, around 10.00 pm . The organization at the dooer was very good , several areas to check in , a separate VIP line , the men at the door were very professional and friendly . We took our bracelets , and followed the giude to show us to our table at the VIP area .
As we walked further , and closer to the location , i could hear the music becoming louder , and clearer. and the lights on the surrouding mountains became brighter and bigger , the smile on my face grew wider, for the location is truly breath taking ...
we arrived to find the place half full , with DJ Yazan playing his warmup set , with nothing but the best of house music , i enjoyed it alot , while getting myself aquainted with the surrounding facilities !
The Vip area was extremely well done , with white leather lounges , white cloth hanging down from the open cieling , a long bar , and separate bathrooms ( which in the end turned out to be a disaster for the ladies )
The regular stage was big , surrounded with bars and food booths , along with a couple of podiums on the sides ...
The Light and Sound was stunning !!! really , marwan abu jaber has done it again , so loud , so crisp , so clear , you can hear the sound for almost anywhere within the location . and the lights and stage were done in a very cool and smart way . ( will try and post some pics )
Sarah Main took charge at around 11.00 pm , to play a magnificent set , with electro , progressive , and tech house tracks , brilliantly mixed , making the crowd go nuts ... what a talented dj !
Jes came on around midnight , screaming about how excited she is to be in this place , and sang almost all her tracks from the disconnect album , including , ghost , as the rush comes , like a waterfall , talk like a stranger, full moon circling and so on .... although she sounds much better on the cds compared to the live performance she gave .
it was almost 1.00 am , and Jes finished her show , the event was full in every area possible, and the time came for tiesto to start , people went crazy , lol ... really , they switched all the lights off , and the only thing that was on , where the 2 huge screens , showing pictures of nature ( elements of life ) with the extended elements of life intro , which is ten seconds before sunrise and that guy with a heavy voice talking about it !
when he said , this is tiesto , fireworks started , and people lost their minds , really , i have never seen them like that in Jordan .. !!! LOL ... jumping , shouting , screaming , dancing ... it was funny .. but cool at the same time !
Tiesto played a good set imo , better than expected , a couple of mixing mistakes , but nothing major , and like i said , much better than expected , alot of his productions where played ( which is what the people want ) and many IDs, some of them where bombs !!! alot of tech trance ids, which i personlay enjoyed alot !! i will try and post the tracklist .
A Couple of mishaps in this event , the first one , was the portable bathrooms in the VIP section , they should have put lights inside not candles , because you couldnt see anything , and they should have appointed a couple of people to clean them every once in a while . I wouldnt want to be a girl in that situation !!!
Also , the tickets should have included something , ya3ni a couple of free drinks , water , soft drinks , anything !!! the tickets were simply covering the entrance , plus transportation , from and to the location.
and one last thing , which could be the most important , i wanted to stay for Madjam's set so bad , but i couldnt because , i had my fiance with me , and by 4.00 am , you could see the young people , who by that time , became way past drunk , started fighting , throwing things , throwing up , bumping into people while walking etc .... ( the typical arab drunk attitude )
it didnt cause any major problems ( at least i havent heard of any ) , but still , we need to grow up ! so much time and money has been spent on this event , the least people can do , is respect that .
Overall , a successful event , i dont think there was an edm event in Jordan that attracted more people than this one , i would say 3000 plus people attended. ( In jordan thats alot )
Those events , located in Petra , Wadi Rum etc ... tend to be very special . The location itself puts you in such a trance , really , defintely a different state of mind than regular events . Hopefuly this one will become an annual event like distant heat !
