Singing DJs?!

I know it's already been done as DJs lend some vocals in a track.. but for a DJ to sing all through a full track, i think this gotta be a first. the DJ is Russian called DJ Pilgrim (who's apparently going big in Russia and Europe) with his track called "ty menya zabud"
in fact the track is kinda catchy and his vocals are very well placed over the music.. so what do you guys think? could this be the new trend? and would you be in favor of such mixture?!

here check him out:

Dali & Melissa are among artists that also sing during their sets. Only difference I suppose is that Piligrim do it during a set, while the ones I mentioned do it in a live performance with full band instruments and such.

It's new for me; a DJ set with live vocals.
I don't know what to think of it... Give it a while to sink in, I'm still in shock :p

I can't watch the Videos right now.
But to answer your question, I don't think it should be a trend, maybe some people are exceptional because of their talent but i doubt they'll make a breakthrough instead they will be recognized as djs going off the rules that we have been used to for decades, at least EDM wise. If it turns out to be a general rule it would be a disaster in my opinion, because for me the best way for a DJ to communicate with his crowd is through the music of his track list and crowd interaction skills, if you add his vocal abilities regardless how good or bad he may be it would turn out to be a hip-hop event and the mystery barrier between the DJ - crowd would break loose, I don't even support DJs holding Mics and contacting their crowd during the event, or having Mic guys excite the crowd yet ruining every song's buildup, The max a DJ should do live besides playing his set obviously is to add live instruments, doing anything else is considered way too much.

I dont think it will be a new trend ... but many people will try to copy it , since the guy is making it big in Europe like you said ... !!

i dont know if its a good thing or not , i still need to think about it more and even see more evidence that might prove its good for edm . But so far , my opinion would be that it will not value to what we like or listen to these days in terms of electronic music !

Absolutely normal. Just like some DJ's can spin and produce, some can sing in this case here or even act. They just have multiple talents..
But in the case of this DJ here, that is absolute rubbish, mind you. Teen-ager music, in my opinion.
