I honestly think it's getting ridiculous...especially on beatport (the main source for updates)...so many tracks with cheap vocals and radio hits are under the "progressive house" section despite not being related to anything proggy...
I don't know...it maybe me considering the fact that I like my prog to be edgy (i.e. Dousk) and not so happy (i.e. Robbie Rivera)...
I have to be honest...tech, techno, progressive...too much mislabeling going on...I guess one has to be picky...

Well Techno, Prog, House, etc. theyre all just tags in the end of the day, we shouldnt rely on them to judge whether a certain track is deemed worthy of our approval or not. Im not sure if its a Beatport thing or a label thing, but tags are just a marketing tool. For instance, over the summer alot of tracks were tagged Techno,Tech House because these two genres were big over the summer, when in reality the tracks were not related to these genres. This of course goes down to the fact that alot of DJs and beatport users want to follow the hype, and when tech house is big, they jump on the 'tech house' tag, and labels start mis-tagging tracks intentionally to sell their records. This is why I never rely on Beatport's genre tags, the track preview is a much better indicator of a certain track's genre.
