I asked a friend (who considers himself a Trancehead) last time if he is going to a specific gig, & he replied "man..you know..it's a bit too trancy".
Then I remembered that I've been hearing this answer a lot from many friends.
Now could you please explain to me what does this mean?
I don't get it..Is there music with low trance level, and a high trance level (thus to be too trancy for some people) ??
I never knew that Trance has degrees of "Tranceness" ! :\

Again it's a mental make believe sort of thing. (Personality issue.)
When everyone listens to Trance and you want to separate
yourself from the crowd you start to referrer to it as"Too Trancy" as in what the mass people listen and dance to,
and the "Not too Trancy" is what the Cool person listens to.
Point from this is having you think there's still something you haven't heard of that only They know about and can identify regardless if it exists or not.
Ever heard that new Term from someone that is not Lebanese?
I'm guessing no.

I usually get that from some Lebanese people living in Lebanon.
But today, I got that from a Lebanese person living in Montreal when I asked him if he's going to O'Callaghan's gig.
I was like "ya..too trancy...RIGHT"!

Maybe these people meant "Not enough house"...
It seemed more like sarcasm rather than ignorance

I think "too trancy" equates with tech Trance. But I may be wrong.

Maybe they prefer non "UK" trance. The non-Discover sound?
But then again, if Callaghan plays his J.O.C. stuff, that would make it Spinnin' material, which absolutely rox (most of them) ... and also his Joint Operations Center stuff too.

yeah Raneem, I hear this from my friends as well, but then again, I never knew what "too trancy" stands for, I believe it is only a tricky way to avoid attending events

Why don't you just ask your friend?
Much easier than guessing.
