I converted a lot of people into liking Trance by making them listen to progressive/uplifting Trance because it's the easiest to relate to and understand,
mostly because the structure hardly ever differs from song to song,it's always the same Trick.
Artist..i would suggest The MasterYou know who he is,so does Kamil his old albums would be a great start.
A couple of ASOTs,Sean Tyas & Gareth Emery podcasts should help too.
Give it 3-4 days and he will start suggesting tracks to you..
that's when you can just tell him to F*ck off!

if he'd wana listen to house music,no doubt it'll be any compilation or artist album by john digweed

ASOT and Tyas? Bleh...

Put them on the right track from the start, don't give them the lollipop popular mainstream stuff.

Any Platipus, Clubbers Guide, Gatecrasher, Godskitchen, Slinky compilations... PRE 2003! After 2003: not as good.

I'd give the right shows and compilations..ASOT 2008, ISOS 6 are good examples.
Some of DJ Shah's tracks are also good, as Rania mentioned.
I'd give him/her Classical Trancelations album too

I first tell him that there is something called EDM.
But i would recommend Sunlounger's sunny tales,sasha's involver,GU shanghai (nick warren).

Start by defining EDM and its genres, and give him few tracks from the main genres let him figure out his style, and tell him to F*ck off.
