^ Fair enough. Between DJ's is ok, but the promotional track that was passed around should be legal in the first place. True? Lets say the track was found on a certain forum *throws in a random site*, shared by someone who was on the legal ipool of a label (who should be banned off the ipool for doing so), those that downloaded ... should actually only be listening to the track "as a promotional version" and not as a copy they can play out. They should support the artist by waiting for the official release, or the public promotional release (ie: Beatport's Exclusive Tracks: 2.49$, while regular tracks are 1.49$ (approx)).

I agree that its very hard to track down illegal dj's, because most of the sales are MP3, and obviously ... that's being burnt to normal CD-R's. Can't find the difference in the CD case. Sure, DJ's are promoting the name of the artist by getting the track known, but ... are they also telling them where to buy it and why they should?

Lets face it piracy is everywhere and spreading like the plague in the 16th century...we never say it enough:support the DJ and the artist...Lets not forget that piracy is not only about music...but its also about computer programs, softwares and even hardware...as far as I know all of Lebanon is using programs illegally, whether it is work programs such as Autocad or Maltab(the license to use both programs costs respectively 10000 & 20000$ and only big companies or universities bother and respect regulations...even a simple microsoft word license costs 100$) or other entertainment programs...

I know I emphasized on another side of "Promo" but I believe it is all the same eventually...as much as I'd love to see piracy of all kind end...unfortunately I dont see it ending anytime soon...

DJs should help their fan-clubs. But they should also wait for the official release of a track. The producers have to be respected i suppose?
A State Of Trance plays mostly tracks that aren't released yet but Armin knows that listeners record his sets and manage to get those HQ tracks... Piracy is everywhere like A-Cube said and can't be stopped, just like corruption.
When i realized that Virgin doesn't import anymore those TranceMasters of whatever other tranzy album i stopped buying... it sucks now! So i decided to start shopping on the internet. DJs have to be fairly appreciated for their perfect productions.
Support your DJs mates or at least try your best to do so.

Finally they put watermarking to a good cause. I know Vonyc used to watermark all their tracks, not just promotional ones, but then again ... the prices weren't that great with the quality (even if it says 320kbs, it sounds quite low, probably because of their encoding) they were offering. Gotta love Beatport's encoding, but not their titling screw-ups. Hahaha

Its sad that Stealthy quit.. I bought 3 of his tracks off audiojelly

Switched to beatport since 4 months, conscience clear since then and i enjoy each track i pay for more! playcount increases!
the previews,the organization ,genre and updates are a good favor.
