Deadmau5 has just finished playing on the Beatport stage at Movement 2008, and his live set was really impressive.
Whilst Deadmau5 is known for his huge electro house and progressive hits, he tailored his music for the Detroit techno audience, dropping dark throbbing techno cuts and wicked driving tech house.
It shows that Deadmau5 is a shrewd producer able to produce all kinds of music.
After his set, he climbed on top of the DJ booth (much to the delight of the crowd) and signaled at them to show some appreciation.
Back stage I joked that a year ago he would never have climbed on top of a DJ booth and played up for the crowd rock and roll style.
“Yeah I know,” he said grinning. Clearly Deadmau5 is enjoying his new found popularity - he’s definitely blowing up.
