I really don't want Trance to evolve into a pop version of it. Why am i being so sarcastic and all the time talk about commercialization and stuff? Because for me music is not a product like a digital camera or the newest Nokia on the market. I'll never understand how people consider music like a product and i don't even want to understand that because the music industry is VERY different from other industries. There is a musician/artist who composes/makes track/songs whatever his inspiration is, just like the painter paints a portrait. It comes from his/her heart. This is the beauty of ART! And guess what, all those ARTists don't look for fame as much as showbiz people do. Indeed there are a few painters that are famous worldwide but they don't go EVERYWHERE to show their face. They remain MODEST. How did Van Gogh or Monet become so famous today? Because their talent got appreciated, meanwhile tiesto or guetta sold their face and their names. FUCK THAT. FUCK THAT. And them *ehm ehm* why do they do that in the end? A DJ is just a guy/boy/woman/girl who plays tracks of other artists and from time to time their own tracks, why do they have to act like porn stars (guetta) or do everything not related to a basically underground music and relate those other things to this basically underground music?! They want fame? FINE they are free i'm not against that, we all have our personal goals in life, i'm cool with that. BUT BUT BUT if fiesto wants to cooperate with Armani Exchange, do it, but without relating it to Trance! If Armin wants to kickoff the world championship of a race on the river (22nd August in Poland) during the gig, fine, but keep Trance/EDM and those other stuff separated!

It's funny how humans have the wonderful ability to create something beautiful and the equally "wonderful" ability to destroy that beautiful thing.

I'm not a blind follower, there is a lot of uplifting trance tracks that are very average/below average. I never said that all uplifting is kickass shit as for the politics stuff i meant that blind fans listen to what the DJs say, not play. Two very different things man. There are a lot of people like that out there. I'm not saying that they suck because they have such taste, but rather that they suck because they are ready to believe everything their favorite DJ would say. Why? Because the majority of people are "easy", that's why we the educated are just a minority, we bother to look for/learn things.

Oh yes i am a HUGE Psy-Trance fan! I'm not much familiar with artists yet but i will be. With Trance it was the same at the beginning, listening to tracks that were in my head "unknown artist - unknown title" and here i am now 11-13 years later very familiar with DJs (and their nationalities - personal curiosity ). The longer Psy remains away from mainstream/remains undergroud, the more respect i have for its scene, DJs and fans. So yea today i bow to the Psy-Trance scene!

Why do i have to know ALL EDM subgenres? So what if there is a subgenre called Drum-Dub-Break-Mini-Tech-Core-Trip-Acid?

What i also meant is that i don't care about the feelings of the guetta/sinclar/vendetta people (fans).

PS: i was simply improvising without building my reply (it's not a school essay that i have to give back to the teacher for a grade ) so i might have forgotten a few things in my arguments

Khaled man, I have to be honest for a moment and say that I'm not particularly fond of the way you're somehow dissing our own members here. Why do we have to like these guys? Not even like, but think about their contributions to the ELECTRONIC MUSIC scene? I completely agree with the guys when they are furious over the fact that this trio of morons call what they do electronic music. You can argue as much as you want, it is NOT electronic music. Putting a certain beat to a bunch of lyrics does not make it a house or trance track, it makes it slightly more appealing to masses. What's the difference between their productions and Michael Jackson's Thriller?? I actually find Thriller closer to house music than all their productions. I'm not in the mood to fight argument for argument, but fact is, everything has its haters and lovers. We have the right to hate the trio's music and make fun of it, that's our right as citizens of this earth, and as long as they throw at us those cheese bombs, we will keep making fun of them.

The thread was initially created because I wanted to know why people hated them. That's pretty much it. The arguments just rolled out naturally with no intention into forcing people into falling in love with those guys or their music.

I just wanted to raise a very valid point which states that people don't really like them because of their music quality only, but because of the social hype created around those DJs/Producers when in reality they are not as talented as other artists out there.

The whole idea revolving around the shame they have put upon the Electronica industry is a false reason in my opinion. I mean come on, house and trance music are 2 great examples of how awesome the electronica industry has become. More people are becoming aware of who's who and what's what.

Armin's doing a very good job with his show to bring awareness to people about EDM. Remember back in the days when you searched for trance music on any of the p2p software and you would find for example "DJ Tiesto - Resurrection" ?

These kinda disappeared right? People now actually post links on facebook of tracks from ASOT or any other shows. They finally know who are the artists behind those tracks and remixes!

THAT by itself is enough evidence that regardless of the typical fanboy that you would likely to find at a Guetta gig, that very fanboy will be at the next Armin van Buuren event or any other name in the industry. Some attend these events to socially condition themselves with the fact that Armin is awesome which was raised by hype, or they simply attend because they love the music - regardless of how fucked up the end up at the gig through drugs or drinks... which is not always the case btw - .

Makes sense?

Guys like Guetta, Sinclar...etc. established their names very well as the masters of cheese.... to us To other people, they're just there for the fun of it and the fact that they know only one song by them and just wanna listen to it out loud.
