For those that don't know, I haven't lived in Lebanon since 2004- when i moved out here to Dubai...
With every-other weekend I head to Beirut for an event or road-show, I find myself constantly tuning in from station to station to hear what are the tracks played, who's advertising for what (including media buyers/agencies... v/o talent they're using...etc) and as always monitoring who's playing the latest tunes- and if any of the new stuff I get is missing, i'm sure to send it to the guys@ Mix FM in the first few hours I'm back on my computer here in Dubai...
however, if u really can't handle the stations there, and don't have a CD/MP3/Battery to power it, tune in on AM to 1323 (BBC WORLD SERVICE) the best radio station on the planet!
it's not "music" its information, documentaries... perfect for long drives! I tune into that here in Dubai on 87.9FM more than i listen to any other radio station... traffic, drives, I'd rather learn something new than hear "Robbie Williams" over and over again... plus radio ads here are limited to 35 seconds now- I produce the Peppermint radio ads that used to be 45 seconds, but now the new regulation is for 35 seconds MAX...
so radio breaks are 3 min long- and for English we got Radio 1, 2, Dubai 92, Virgin Radio, Channel 4, Coast, Dubai Eye- so there's more than enough on air for you- yet I still enjoy BBC world service more- call me a nerd, but I'd rather learn something new everyday-
that's my 2 cents on the radio factors in that and this city...
