The Blizzard make Progressive Trance. That's how i'd categorize their style imo. Prog is very rich in sounds most probably because in many tracks you can't be sure if it's Prog House or Prog Trance or another low bpm subgenre. It's the best choice if you want to combine different sounds (electro, minimal, melodic...) and that's why every time you hear something "new".
I'm just saying that seriously no one ever criticizes the tech DJs/artists (ban the word "producer"!). Sander Van Doorn made a minimal track (Grasshopper) and i also remember him as Sam Sharp (track Twister) and Purple Haze. But for 2-3 years now his sets and tracks mainly sound DRY. Leon Bolier & Sied Van Riel make the tech that i truly enjoy. Tech with melodies. Proggy Tech... call it however you like. But SvD & co are freakin boring for me just like Sean Tyas & co are freakin boring for others.
Yep, music is about being original. There are DJs/artists who have a wide taste and can make tracks in different genres/subgenres, thus creating something original and different all the time. But there are also others who enjoy only this or that subgenre. Imagine David Guetta playing/making Uplifting Trance! I'm sure that his ears wouldn't enjoy it!

We all go the whole time into arguments about this and that, but if you go back to the source of all those debates, it's about musical taste

PS: i hope that in my life i'll see the day when someone in this forum will criticize Sander Van Doorn for not making something new!
