Played since months already by all the big DJs and recently released to the big public; TranceHits.com had to review this vinyl! Mark Norman are doing very well this year. With a nice kick off at Trance Energy and a little later their UK debut at club Passion they are now not anymore seen as some upcoming talent but slowly manifest them as a serious player in the Dutch dance scene.
Phantom Manor
Typical dance track beat during the first minute. In the back you can notice a metal gong and a haunting piano key enters also. It is from the second minute, announced by a drumroll, that the track is really on and that ‘now nearly famous’ bassline takes on the lead. The echo fly through synth layer supports the lot. It is here that the break is reached and only that typical lasting synth key grows on you. From there synths and saw brass sounds stir the melody up. Add later to that scary laugh and the ghosts are out. Quality til the last seconds.
Rush
A more ‘regular’ production with less special effects like the ones found on the A-side. Rush is fast pitched with a well developed rhythm part and a superb synth part swiveling in and out once in a while. During the break you get to hear it all in full and it seems all the colors of the rainbow are passing by. Deep and thrilling is what this break is. When the beat is back on you can hear some cool half-cut synth sound in the back.
Phantom Manor has scored big time already and defines exactly what Mark Norman stands for: top notch quality Hard Trance. The result this track has had on the dance floors has been, and still is, amazing. Therefore no other words are needed to describe this brilliant track, it is something you have to experience yourself.
