Tatana Sterba, Swiss top female DJ hits back with a smashing summer release. After her successful Soul Cry she is now back with something new and also including a Ronksi Speed mix. Jaël’s singing will enchant you with her crystal clear voice and the rest of the music will just take you over.
Always On My Mind [Ronski Speed Dub]
An echo pad flies through the intro creating a haunted effect. Steadily, one by one percussions and drums join in to develop into a complete rhythm part. Once the bassline is there the track is truly on strolling towards the break. Only the synth melody remains and for one second Jaël’s voice is heard. After some time the mix gains in volume and amplitude to retrieve its pre-breake completeness.
Always On My Mind [DJ Tatana Sirup Remix]
A bass pad and a solid kick are the only two elements that invite you on this mix. Some space effects pass through and then other percussions join in to get it going. Jaël’s voice then takes over only supported by a low volume synth key. After this the beat picks up of course. Time for the big brake with resonance guitar sounds and later only the clear singing. The synth melody that comes to join is followed by the beat and thus the whole track is rocking again.
A lot of progressive influences here but this only makes this release more accessible, the Sirup Remix that is. The balance of keys, rhythm part, and lyrics is just perfect. Not too much vocals, it’s just fine. The Ronski Speed Dub seems a little ‘empty’ compared to the Sirup Remix. It’s not a bad track but maybe another mix would have been a better choice here.
