Artist: Apogee
Title: Tribal Affair (Incl Marcos Mix)
Label: Captivating Sounds
Cataloguenumber: CVSA025
Genre: Uplifting Trance
Tracks: 03

Marcos is back under his Apogee alias, with a release that features two mixes done by the man himself, and an additional remix from his good friend JK Walker. Obviously intended to shake dancefloors, the Marcos mix features one dark and energetic buildup that only leads to an even darker and more energetic breakdown! Possessing one of those melodies that are designed to get your ass off the seat and onto the dancefloor, with a matching drum'n'bass package to seal the deal. A little psy influence can be detected at some points as well...
The Apogee remix features a dryer kick with a high-pitched acid layer that is always welcome in crowd-pusher tracks. Techier than the Marcos mix, but not at all less interesting, the kind of material you'd like to hear after 5-A.M. on a large system. The breakdown doesn't fall short from the Marcos mix either, and finishes off with the minimal melody atop the comeback of the mighty beat.
JK Walker offers a very, very hard interpretation of this affair. I personally never liked his sound, and this remix has just been added to my list of disappointments. With the refined quality offered in the first two mixes, this remix can easily be disposed of; too dry, too monotonous, too predictable, too uncreative. With the previous mixes working more than just fine for ears and floors, this remix offers little. Alone it could be worth a listen, but among the Marcos mix and the Apogee remix it just doesn't stand out.

a great release indeed.. all remixes are good.. even the JK WALKER remix did appeal to me.. would do wonders on dancefloors.. besides eventhough it starts with some hard kicking bassline, actually the track gets varied a lot afterwards.. i suggest u check it again DIO coz it's much more than just a plain monotonous hard trancer..

Marcos does it again!

Marcos does it again for sure! And I'll be giving the JK remix a few more listens after your advice...
