Dumonde ~ Kalt/Cold

Postby DIONYSOS » Sun May 16, 2004 11:03 am

Jurgen Mutschall & Dominik de Leon are back with something new just to follow up the road of quality they have paved previously with tracks like Never Look Back, God Music, and Human. Kalt is out on Fate Recordings in two versions; Kalt for the German market and Cold for all other countries. This means two identical vinyls, just with a different name. You are going to hear this record the coming months during the various performances this German duo will be giving. This is something you have to check out.

Typical Dumonde start with hard kicks and some fast paced dry claps. A saw synth melody joins in and with a drumroll a long string synth swivels through. After this only the percussive elements will be heard. In the break now, new pads are introduced and they steadily gain in volume. At the same time the rhythm parts are slowly muted. From here the break begins and the German lyrics tell you it’s cold und "ich habe angst" (I am afraid). Slowly the kicks pick up and the synth melody is changed to a distorted saw sound to create an up'n'down half-note changing riddle. This will also later change and return to the style used in the beginning.

Hard stuff representing what the Dumonde duo stands for. A new track to prove high quality Hard Trance is well and alive. If you like what Dumonde has done before you will like this release also - a very nice piece of music from the ‘meisters’.
