Cosmic Gate ~ 'Different Concept II'

Postby DIONYSOS » Fri May 14, 2004 1:31 pm

This is the second part of Cosmic Gate’s new 'Different Concept' vinyl pack. The first one, released just a month ago, has got already big support from Tiesto and Marco V. Now Part II has been released and this is another monster vinyl; an awesome piece of music everyone should discover.

A1: Bilingual
Dry fast kicks work this track up. A round sound joins after a while and with a powerful bassline this stuff is already kicking. A small break is reached where the rhythm part is muted and a new panning synth is faded in. After this, the beat and toms pick up and stereo waves flow through your head. This was actually only the introduction to the best part that has yet to come. During the long break a simple and clear piano riddle is played. A low key piano will support this melody and a lead synth will also join in. The piano riddle is then muted and the 'hard-in-your-face' left-right shifting synth returns. Towards the end the piano riddle will return and this makes the track complete.

B1: Monotune
Slowly an array of drums and percussive sounds build up to create a rhythm intro par excellence. After this an arpeggiated bassline and hard kicks take over. Steadily the percussions will return and after some time a dark saw synth melody will defeat all other sounds. The rhythm part will return later but then it’s back to that arpeggio bassline and the percussive sounds from the intro. This whole pattern will repeat itself to make up to its name; monotune.

Bilingual is one of the best Hard Trance productions so far this year. This tune is original, extremely powerful, and highly addictive. Couldn't say the same about Monotune though. In conclusion, this vinyl is one every Hard Trance freak should have in his collection.
