Airscape ~ Sosei {remixes}

Postby DIONYSOS » Thu Apr 29, 2004 3:22 pm

The latest Airscape track Sosei did pretty well with the big jocks and in the charts. No wonder, because the Airscape project from Johan Gielen and Sven Maes is one of the oldest Trance projects around. Amazing the world back in the nineties with releases like Amazon Chant and the wonderful Pacific Melody, they have been pumping out quite some tracks and remixes. After a little silence, they came back with Sosei, and now Part II of the vinyl is released, which leaves the guys from the north, F&W, and Reeloop to a difficult task to remix this track.

F&W:
The guys from the Danish F&W duo have been delivering some nice productions and remixes, and also ID&T was charmed by their work, so now they remix the uplifting 'hands in the air' trancer in their own pushing dark style. One of the strongest points by F&W is theIr excellent bassline work. Also this time they managed to create a nice-going full bassline. The concept of the remix is quite easy, the main lead of the Original Mix placed over this magnificant bassline. In general, the sound in this remix is more uplifting than we are used from F&W, and alltogether it makes a simple yet effective straightforward trancer that surely will bring some hands in the air on those peaktime moments.

Reeloop:
Oliver Klitzing is the man that produces under the name Reeloop and is of course mostly known for his hit Fucking Society. You can divide this mix inyo two parts: the start is the typical Reeloop bass with an almost cheesy rework of the original main lead, then a breakdown enters and the piano melody is introduced. From this moment it sounds like a Trance track that kinda lost the way. The musical elements don't sound good together, the piano melody is nice, but it feels like the bassline doesn't belong in the track. It all sounds very strange and uncomfortable. Not the best stuff that Reeloop has produced.

F&W delivers again with a straightforward but cool trancer. Reeloops' remix seems to lose the focus in the middle of the track and ends up as a strange remix.
