A 2004 remake of the ultimate M.I.K.E. classic:
Plastic Boy - Twixt

well i already have the vinyl but was too busy to post any review.. anyway i'll just post the tracklist and let you review it (since it's your topic..)

just wanna say that propably this is the best remix of MIKE this year.. as for the original Twixt.. well whoever still dont know it, then he/she is missing a real important chapter in trance history!!

Short review and first impressions...
I was sceptical about this track knowing that it will never be better than the original classic. Guess what? Turns out I'm right ;-)

The track starts electro-ish with didgeridoo-like sounds. Very un-Mike!
After 40 seconds the solid kicks start pushing in and the track remains quite monotonous while the typical Mike percussion elements keep adding up. Right before the second minute a long stretched string comes along and it buils up towards the "climax". The breakdown isn't breathe-taking or anything and the climax has a sound that reminds me a bit of TiÃ«sto's Lethal Industry somehow. The melody of the original Twixt can be slightly distinguished yet it doesn't even get near the real thing. A typical Mike riff finishes off the "climax" and the kicks plus all the remaining percussion can be heard again towards the end. Typical post-"climax" with no special moment or original variation what so ever. Quite a disappointment I must say if you compare it to the original Twixt. As a stand-alone track I give it a 7/10. For a Twixt it gets 2/10...
