It is not very often these days , that you find producers which have consistancey in producing high quality hits , time after time, with alot of variety . First State turn everything they touch into pure , solid gold !! From productions , to remixes , they never seem to fall short of brilliance.
Just when i was getting ready to stop listening to their track " Your Own Way " , they release this beauty. Sierra Nevada!!
I didnt know what to expect when i first got this release , but i wasnt expecting what ive heard , thats for sure . I thought to myself , They have released Evergreen , Falling , and Your Own Way , and they've all been superb, they cannot continue their success with a 4th quality release!! THEY JUST CANT!!! LOL
But they did !! I was in my car when i first played this release , it blew me away!!
Original Mix : Starts with a faster beat compared to their previous productions , and quickly the bassline which reminded me of old classic trance tracks , kicks inn , with the ala Dj Shah's Global Experience vocals soon being introduced!! Guitars suddenly appear out of nowhere , and the main breakdown starts. and then ... the melody attacks , with a couple of goose bumps here and there , and an imminent smile shines from my face while i am driving! I am almost positive people in the cars next to me thought i was either drunk or retarded ! The melody is very anthem like , a melody that reminded me a bit of how massive Lethal Industry was back then , but most importantly , the melody reminded me , that melodic trance , will always have a place in my soul !! BRILLIANT !!!
Terry Ferminal remix : Just when i started wondering what happened to this guy , he appears on the remix duties. This remix is brilliantly done (i guess the word of the day is brilliant ). Terry slows things down for us , adding elements of techiness and filth. his signiture sound , but defintely slowed down. The smart move he made , was to creat a completely different atmosphere in this remix , he kept the guitar and the vocals , but interpreted the melody in his own style , removing the anthem like sound from the original mix . Brilliant ( AGAIN!! ) and innovative !! This remix is made for the people , who avoid anthem like, tance tracks. Good choice for this remix dute. This guy is very talented, keep an eye on him .. !
