Again, 5 AM Records release some quality stuff!!!
Times Square (Bright Mix) has strong beats and of course this Octagen and M.I.D.O.R. usual strong bassline! After 8 measures, a good melody appears, and then beats kick in again..Bassline and kicks dominate the intro basically, along with this simple melody. The breakdown starts at around the 3rd minute, and the melody starts.. Melody is not really wow btw, but Bright for sure.. Acceptable tune for dancefloor and for listens!
Times Square (Dark Mix) is the dark side of this tune, starting off with some tough kicks and bassline, close to the bright one. However, the samples used in this mix are darker of course. Percussions dominate the introduction, with some sounds. And then comes the time for the Breakdown, which is less melodic than the Bright Mix (obviously, from the track mix name). Beat then kicks again, with the bassline, and these dark strange sounds. dancefloor killer 1 yr warrantee
Rebound is the soft side of trance; peaceful and calm track, with soft beats and basslines. No real melodies in this track, and I do not corner it in the real Trance section honestly (that’s my opinion, at least). All in all, it is a good production by these gr8 producers, but not really my cup of tea.
Activate, the best of this EP, starts off with some fine percussions, and 4 measures later, a HUGE gr8 FUCKING Bassline comes out! I love it! This track will really be gr8 on dancefloor!! This track’s Breakdown is short a bit (not a real breakdown.since it directly starts with a filtered melody), but attractive enough to let u fall in love with it! It’s not done yet!! Just after Showing off with this melody a bit, another Gr8 frequency-variated mid-bass sound comes out from the floor at around 4:50 to shake the dancefloor again.
In general, gr8 release! BUY IT!
