Any fan of Tech trance will understand why I'm going to go all out in this review.
Any fan of Marcel Woods probably already knows how KILLER these two tracks are!
Marcel Woods, the Dutch floor-killer producing phenomenon, is back with two filthy tracks - both which glisten with that certain in-your-face (VERY in-your-face), je-ne-sais-quoi kind of element: HUGELY fist-pumping action!
While listening to Don't Tar Me With the Same Brush, you can't exactly determine WHAT you are listening to. It was best described by Marcel himself on an interview on i:Vibes.com as the following:
[align=center]‘Don’t Tar Me With The Same Brush’ isn’t something taken from a synth or whatever. It basically means “F*ck categorizing/generalizing”! I want to make a bit of a statement with it. I don’t think anyone can put the record in just one genre; it’s a mixture of many. It has elements of groove, tech trance, trance etcetera. It’s just not describable using just one term. [/align]
On the other hand, you have the epitome of filthiness: quite different than the previous track, Get the Kleenex was described by Marcel's label as "dance floor rudeness"!
Rudeness, indeed. And I'm sure High Contrast Recordings doesn't mean that negatively
Get the Kleenex is one large ear-drum piercing tunes that will ravage dance floors everywhere! Although I have read much criticism that it is nothing but mere buzz and chain-saw like beats, I beg to differ - the techy effect that is produced in this track is something I have never heard of before!
Overall, in my opinon, this track has wow-ed many and has the ability to wow many more. Fans who dislike a techy feel to things might dislike it...
BUT I freaking ADORE both tracks! Pure gems.
