I honestly don't know why nobody reviewed this excellent release..

Cursed starts with a really freaky introduction (can be gr8 for a set intro) with a one tone synth. Beats kick in with some really good percussions, and progressively a pad appears.. We go into the breakdown, where Carl B. journey begins.. The real uplifting sad epic shivering gloomy trembling (whatever u wanna call it) Melody starts, with a low pass filter, and progressively automated to give u the full melody, with all its frequencies, with all its effects...Bridge starts of course progressively..and the beat goes on!! Just a gr8 Sh!t! One of my fav this yr!!

Optimum is another uplifting tune, with a more techy atmosphere..Intro is like the usual Carl B's intros, but this time, a different breakdown..A gr8 powerful synth, that obliges u to shake ur A$$! No real melody in here, but the sound is really gr8, with an awesome bassline!
This sound later becomes a bit meaningful to those who care abt a melody..

Again, Carl Barrdahl proves that he's one of the best Trance producers... And this release will be one of the best of 2007...

Uplifting Trance was NEVER dead, and continues to be the ONE sub-genre which DEFINES Trance! All the other subgenres (except Psychedelic, so that Genesis doesn't rape me) actually emerged from the fusion of Uplifting Trance (or what used to be previously refered to as Melodic Trance, and previously previously as Epic Trance) with other genres such as Progressive House (thus Progressive Trance) or Techno (thus Tech Trance). But at the end of the day, a dreamy yet energetic melody on a solid beat with occasional vocals remains the definition of Trance!
