For a track to be remixed by the almighty Robert Nickson, it oughta be good! Echoing Waves starts off with some minor percussive sounds that are followed by a soft beat accompanied by some guitar riffs and a heavy bassline. Twinkling sounds are then added, and the bassline is manipulated with all sorts of different effects. Shortly afterwards, the melody starts appearing, and is progressively emphasized. There isn't really an obvious breakdown in this track, just a progressive flow of dreamy elements. After the melody is withdrawn, the beat is shattered apart into a beautiful cut of break-beats, until the soft melody is finalyl re-introduced. Wouldn't work too well on the dancefloor, but would work very well on your ears.

It seems Robert Nickson thought the same about the Original Mix and decided to give it a more uplifting twist. You might know him from his smash hit Spiral, and recently from his outstanding remix of Vadim Zhukov's Exit. And if you trust my taste in Trance, you'll believe me when I tell you that this remix is just as good. A solid beat & bassline are followed by those twinkling sounds, and this time we do have a breakdown. The breakdown starts off very dreamy, with beautiful pads and a magical synth that leave you no choice but to close your eyes and fly! Beautiful, simply beautiful. Nickson did a great job on remixing this baby: he emphasized the original sweet melody, and provided a more dancefloor-approved feel to it. Highly recommended for all you melodic freaks out there.
