Together with the re-released album of Belgian Trance master Airwave, also an album sampler is released. For those who don't know, the I Want To Believe CD is in the shops now and the people that want some full length tracks of the album are now spoiled with four released tracks, which have not been released before. Laurent Vèronnez is the man who is responsible for this project and also does a load of others like Cape Town, Lolo, Green Martian and many more. There's also an unreleased track included called Theft Of The Spirit.
Seattle Calling
This is a laidback trancer that contains some magnificent guitar work from an artist from the USA whose nickname is 'The Pedestrian'. It kicks off with a slightly dark sound with a slowly subtle bassline. Also the floating sounds in the background, one of Airwave's producing keymarks, add to the atmosphere. Slowly the track evolves into a relaxing melodic trancer. The guitar melody is catchy and well-carried throughout the whole track. A great track for a sunset on the beach.
Musings Of A Lifetime
This is a relatively short track, with just five and a half minutes it's a quick but exceptional track. The bassline is very bouncy and even has a funky touch. Fans of the Velvet Girl moniker from Laurent will adore the nice repetitive sound that has a sunny touch. The small breakdown is very dreamy and typically Airwave-ish.
Theft Of The Spirit
Hyped for some time on diverse internet fora and people have been asking for a release quite a while. A spacey start, that remind of the L-vee moniker (yes another one) marks the beginning. A faster bassline then usual is introduced. Some nice piano-like samples are placed in the track and the melody is introduced in the breakdown. It reminded me of the tune Tilt - Invisible in the Lost Tribe Remix, but then re-arranged in an L-vee sound. A very nice and smooth trancer. Absolutely release-worthy.
Trust No1
This was the closing track of the first release of the album and has been produced totally on a computer with software. This time it's a full length mix of nearly eleven minutes. This is way different then the usual style and is a very experimental track. No real melody or lead, but just playing with sounds. Chaotic sounds and effects are placed over a progressive sounding bassline.
The first three tracks are absolutely very nice to have, nice dreamy Trance productions. This is a true gem for the Airwave fans!
