The strange thing about this release is that if I did come across it seven years, I would've lost my mind over it. You have to know something; I'm not big into melodies. I don't mind them if the bass lines and beats have a relentless presence but generally: I'm not a big fan of melodramatic hands-in-the-air moments.
Having said that, Melatron has swam against the tide and made its way into my collection. Despite its melodic presence, it (somehow) hit a note in me and turned into a current favourite of mine.
The EP features five mixes; Original, Deep, Mindwave, and Kintar and Live featuring Joanna Swan.
The Original did it for me. Deep and Kintar pushed it hard and came a close second. Kintar's was very unique with a hint of psy elements, so that clearly put it on my scale. Deep had more emphasise on the bass line which also rates good in my book.
Mindwave's a little too trancy for my taste and the Live mix is the same as the Original Mix except some added vocals which was gay and decreased the tune's general quality.
Bottom line: I like. You will too. Get it.
Original Mix and Deep mix are featured below. I'll come back with the Kintar Mix when it surfaces on youtube.
