Airbase. Come on! Do I really need to type out an intro? Sorry. Look him up. We all know him. Swedish dude. Has a great sense of humor on the boards. Shit taste in music though. NOT! Escape is one of his best tracks which got released back in 2005. To my surprise, the original got a good treatment. I have always wanted to hear a remix for the original.
The 2009 release consists of 3 tracks:
o1. Escape (Der Mystik's Opening Chapter Remix) (9:20)
o2. Escape (Der Mystik's Final Chapter Remix) (9:40)
o3. Escape (Original Mix) (8:39)
Interesting huh? To think that the release's title meant there would be tons of remixes included. No worries though. The remixes by Der Mystik are out of this world.
Der Mystik's Opening Chapter Remix
This is a summer track. I have been listening to ISOS3 again lately and the intro track always blows me away with its emotional state. Pretty intense. And I thought to myself "when was the last time I heard a track with such an intro?" Until I listened to this remix on my way to work this morning. 8:00 A.M. Grey sky. Pure bliss. Absolutely stunning! The guitar used in obviously a synth, but it was used well. Too well. I like the melodic adventure that Der Mystik went for when he interpreted the original melody. He still kept it, but fooled around a bit with the guitar. The breakdown is somewhat good, but could have been better. Something's not right, yet good. Confusing, I know. Listen to it and you'll know what I mean. Great remix nonetheless! Awesome for a summery compilation intro.
Der Mystik's Final Chapter Remix
For the people who know me well, I sorta moved away from the whole Uplifting Trance craze. Only because I truly think that the tracks are not as good as they used to be. However, SOMETIMES, a track does come along and I am reminded by the beauty of this subgenre of Trance music. This remix is absolutely stunning!! A crowd pumper. A dancefloor destroyer! WOW!!! I am impressed!!! It's driving, emotional, happy, groovey...etc. Fuck! The intepretation is somewhat different yet close to the original. The breakdown is the highlight of the remix. Picture it this way: You're listening to this track at a live set and you're unsure of what track or remix this is. The breakdown comes in, and you're still unsure. Then BOOM! The main melody kicks in.
Wait. Does that make sense?
Oh yeah it does
