After releasing his double cd album Something to Live For a while ago, John O’Callaghan releases now, under Discover, the single Space & Time/Sunday 1AM, including an Extended, an Intro, and a Marc Van Linden]/b] Remixes (which were not included in the album before).
And oh my what a release!
[b]Sunday 1AM is simply the JoC style with some amazing beats and basslines. In addition, it has great dreamy melodies in the breakdown (same synths used in Space & Time). Just after the breakdown, beats come back again, with no melodies, just to create a good atmosphere on the dancefloor. Melodies then later come back to reach a second breakdown.
Intro Mix and Extended Mix of Space & Time have an excellent techy bassline, with great beats and percussions. These mixes are basically more into Techno with these types of sounds, beats and basslines. They also include a male vocals saying “Sapce & Time” in a very devilish way! Definitely good for listens and dancing.
But if the mixes mentioned above do not satisfy you, then I’m sure that the Marc Van Linden will. Anything this man touches makes it a magical combined piece of melodic and techy sounds. The remix is simply the MvL style, with close samples that he usually creates. MvL makes the track even brighter than the original, and takes it beyond your imagination (melodically and ass-shaky wise). Totally an amazing breakdown with the original melodies and some great pads which make you travel in space and time to another planet. But Marc Van Linden has no mercy on clubbers; he hits the beats with a totally amazing bass that will destroy the whole universe. Melodies come back at a later stage.
