[IN]Head-Kay - Kay-Ville 006: A Set Dedicated to the Children of Gaza
This is a very special set that I have dedicated to the suffering children of Gaza. This one is all about emotions from start to finish. Each part of the set represents a certain timeline in the history of the conflict. I believe in the power of music, and that music should always be used as a force of change, thus I felt compelled to deliver something in these dark times that the Gazans are going through.
Kicking it off on a very dark and minimalistic note that aims to represent the starting days of the war, the set plunges into the depth of agony and suffering while going over such hard tracks as Shackleton's now legendary 'Death is not Final' and Marc DePulse's heart throbbing "Heavy Duty Dowel Pin". Slowly things start to brighten up and eventually reaches a happy hopeful ending.
All throughout the set, powerful political messages will be delivered from the likes of Mumia Abu Jamal, David Bengorion, Che Guevara, Malcolm X, JFK, Albert Einstein, Truman, MLK Jr, etc. Those who normally tune in to my show will note that this isn't a new feat, I have always been a fan of mixing for a purpose, however this set is extremely politically oriented, in terms of the message delivered that is.
On the hope that peace will be achieved soon and that the bloodshed will stop, we resort to music to portray our feelings. I hope you give this one a drop, and as always, I look forward to all your remarks and feedback.
