I was requested by my good friend Suha to post the following on her behalf since her TH isn't work in some dodgy East European enclave she's hiding in:
Zizou did it twice, as opposed to how many hundreds of times Materrazi has reduced other players to injuries, dives, and plain unethical sportsmanship???? I'm not trying to justify Zidane's behaviour, because by no means should a legend like him behave the way that he did, but if you're going to be picky about Zidane's past, then I might as well dissect the Materrazi archives too. Pippo, Sheva, Sorin, Rui Costa etc... some of the BIGGEST names in football (mind you, Serie A players SUFFERED) have been exposed to shyt by the infamous Marco M, the guy who takes down the men instead of the ball. Materrazi does not play football. He only knows the filthiest of tackles from rugby. Congratulations to the Italia fans in the house. Lippi has trained the Azzurri to play with their minds, and last night was a chess game that les Bleus did not coherently respond to. I cried myself to sleep because this has been a miserable WC and because contemporary football is just one big mess. Football really is unfair, and the realities to it are not solely a result of poor coaching (a la Sven, Domenech, etc...), among other factors of course, but the likes of Abramovich. Why? Well, why not? Only a fool would question the nature of such a statement. I am tired of this massive football monopoly and of the over-inflated price tags contesting "top notch" players. Football has progressively shifted from a sport to an industry. From entertainment to a market. But what's new about that?
