Latest News: beckham insists that he will stay at the pitch with LA Galaxy and he's not in it for hollywood's rich and famous. "With me, it's about football. I'm coming there to make a difference. I'm coming there to play football."

Coach Fabio Capello said Saturday that Beckham will not play again for the Real Madrid team at which the English star remains under contract until June 30.
"He is not going to play any more. He will practice, but he is not going to play," Capello said at a news conference.

Beckham said he hopes to work with American youngsters and keep them interested in soccer when they are finished with youth leagues.

"I'm not saying me coming over to the States is going to make soccer the biggest sport in America. That would be difficult to achieve," Beckham said. "Baseball, basketball, American football, they've been around.

"But I wouldn't be doing this if I didn't think I could make a difference."

His friendship with Cruise and Holmes should make adjusting to life in Los Angeles easier for him and his wife.His family isn't packed yet, and he added with a grin, "It might take a while with Victoria."

so what if he went to MLS ? y should ppl spit on him and not on Batistuta, Leboeuf, Figo and so many others like them ? i think the choice he made is very logical since i dont see him playing in another English club, in the Liga, and definetely not in the Calcio ! Although the financial aspect is huge and decisive in his decision, the fact that he's gonna be given time to play there is also an important factor. and he will promote soccer in the States. + its a new culture, a new challenge i think beckham needed this to come back @ his top level.
