Looks like a cross-breed between a Windows and a Mac.
Apart from this, I know nothing about the gOS.

Nick an OS is more than just an interface!
But esam is right, its actually ubuntu based, the whole idea was to create an OS that bodes well with Web 2.0 and all the latest Web application with an emphasis in Google products. Did not try it out yet, though I would like to before I judge it.
