i dont know if this topic has been brought up be4.... and i dont know if this is the right forum for the subject. if its wrong i appologize to the moderators and administrators of TH.com. n e ways this question crossed my mind today and i was wondering if any1 new anything extra about the subject. i read somewhere that if ur getting paid to dj it is illegal to use some1 elses music even if uve bought a legit cd from the music store. i mean i know u need liscenses to play other producers music. but does this apply in leb i mean like if some dj in lebanon played a track for lets say adymus without a license to play it would they get in trouble? also i know that this is a problem for djs who are getting paid, but what if the dj didnt get paid would it still be a problem to play unlicensed music?

In Lebanon this doesnt apply, but you are right, in places like the UK and Finland, DJs are expected to purchase licenses in order to be eligible to play digital copies of music that is copyrighted to a label or a producer. The law is quite controversial, but recently more and more clubs in the UK have been requiring this as pre-requisite before they hire a certain DJ.
