My pc has been infected with the KATRINA virus...it keeps giving me a message that the system is shutting down in 10 seconds...to avoid that I have to run a file called "shutdown -a"...but it's a temporary solution since the message appears seconds later...
How do I get rid of this crap??
PS it's probably a .bat file, my computer's anti-virus is NOD32 that can't seem to detect the threat and while writing this message I had to write the command almost 15 times...

Change that anti-virus of yours, ive tried it and found it very limited!
Try installing ZoneAlarm Antivirus! It detected stuff on my pc i never knew existed...
If you want it, pm me or something!
Oh and if you want when the virus appears try reversing your pc clock backward as much as possible and see if it works!
hope this helps!

Icepick you're a genius!!! I actually reversed the clock 4 hours and I now have 4 hours before it shut downs the computer...
I'm using now HijackThis to try to locate the malware...
Do you know anything about a program called SmitFraudFix??Is it effective??

I add my voice to Icepick. Get Zone Alarm Antivirus. Let me know if you want
it.
Never had an issue with Katrina so I've no suggestion on to how to get rid of it.

I've installed Zone Alarm after a long struggle...but the virus is still lurking and making my computer slower...I think I have located a part of its name it's called sevcst...I may get Symantec sometimes next week I hope it can find .bat files...

I have used SmitFraudFix...no result...restored for one month...no result...I'm seriously considering backing-up all the files and format it if Symantec doesn't result in anything as well...
Whoever did this plague is one large dickhead...
And a big wanker...
