It is THE NEW THING everyone is talking about here in Paris. It is the dance everyone is trying to learn. It is the new phenomenon that you can witness on every street corner in Paris, in every public place or in any club (even the most hyped ones)... Ladies and Gentlemen, it is the TECKTONIK DANCE! EDM's (mostly tekno & elektro) new ambassador.
It has surpassed Hip-Hop by far in this side of the world. All the kids want to learn it. All clubbers try to dance it. This dance is THE dance of the 21st century. It has changed society to a point that every single news channel here in France has made a documentary about it. Even my grand parents know what it is. Clubs who never used to play any EDM are now blessing us with tunes straight from the biggest techno and elektro DJ's so that the clubbers can enjoy Tecktonik.
A Brief Wiki explanation:
Tecktonik (also known as "tck", "Milky Way") is a form of dance based on a blend of hip hop and techno styles.[1] It originated in Paris, France and has grown in popularity through word-of-mouth and video sharing sites. Tecktonik was featured prominently at the 2007 Paris Techno Parade on September 15, 2007.
Tecktonik appeared in France in 2000 in Paris in a nightclub called Metropolis.[2] It borrows heavily from elements of glowsticking, and hip-hop dance moves including popping and locking.
Notable Tecktonik musicians include DJ Dess, RV. B, Deepack, Max B. Grant and Miss Hiroko.
Typical dress for Tecktonik dancers include tight-fitting jackets and slim-fit jeans. Dancers also tend to have "futuristic" hair cuts and sometimes wear makeup designs such as a star around one eye. Tecktonik style borrows heavily from cyberpunk. The neon colours on shirts are linked to the London Nu Rave fashion scene.
Keep in my mind: it's not only the dance in itself that counts, but also the attitude and of course, the dress code and hairstyle.
